In 1996 he took over the reins of Hillsdale Animal Hospital and began to specialize in complementary and alternative veterinary medicine (CAVM). After completing courses in animal chiropractic and veterinary acupuncture during 1997-1998, Dr. Fischer obtained certification by meeting stringent requirements in these specialty areas from the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA) and the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS). Herbal medicine was next on the CAVM agenda, and upon completion of a course in Chinese Herbology in 2002, he received certification from the Healing Oasis Wellness Center in Sturtevant, Wisconsin. Currently, Dr. Fischer continues his studies in these areas as well as having developed a strong interest in nutrition and nutritional medicine.

Cassidy is new to the area and has found happiness working at Hillsdale Animal Hospital. She graduated from the University at Albany in May of 2019 with a major in Psychology and Business. She was unsure of what career path she was going to take, but was open to all possibilities. One thing she knew she would enjoy was a working environment with animals. Cassidy has been an “animal-lover” for her entire life. She has ridden horses since she was young, and made it on her college equestrian team. She now owns one of her own, Charlie. She also has a rescued cat named Pansy and plans to adopt many more animals in the near future. In her spare time, Cassidy enjoys being with her family, relaxing outside, or playing with her furry friends.
